Action “Give Me Life!” starts in Bashkiria

The action, called “Give Me Life!” (Week against abortions), initiated by the Fund of social-cultural initiatives, headed by wife of Russian Prime-Minister Svetlana Medvedeva, will be held in Bashkiria on July 9-15.

The action is aimed at attraction of public attention to the problem of abortions and at uniting of joint efforts of medical, public and religious institutions in prophylactics of abortions.

According to official statistics, presented by the Ministry for health protection and social development of Russia, 59 abortions fall on 100 newly born babies in the country now. The present situation demands further active work on reduction of the number of abortions and improvement of demography in Russian Federation.
