Bashkir customs officers discovered radioactive background in parcels from Canada

Customs officers in Ufa and Neftekamsk discovered radioactive parcels. Both parcels came from Canada and contained medallions of the company “Munami Inc”, press-secretary of Volga Customs Dept Natalie Stojarova reported.

Citizens of Bashkiria ordered these medallions through internet as medicinal decorations. According to advertising materials the medallions are made of volcanic lava and can strengthen health and remove tiredness. At that the capacity of gamma radiation on surface of every medallion is equal to 0,50-0,67 micro-roentgens per hour under the level of natural radiation background at 0,06-0,008 micro-roentgens/hour.
