Great air show during Sabantuy in Ilishevsky region

A Sabantuy devoted to the Musa Gareyev’s 90th birthday anniversary – our outstanding fellow countryman, twice Hero of the Soviet Union took place in Ilishevsky region near Verhneyarkeevo village. Bashkortostan Republic DOSAAF (Voluntary Association for Assistance to Army, Air Force and Navy) and administration of Ilishevsky area were organizers of the holiday. The widow of the Hero Galina Gareyeva, the family of the glorified pilot, the Chairman of the Kurultay RB Konstantin Tolkachev, the senator fr om Altai Republic, the native of Ilishevsky region Ralif Safin and other guests of honour took part in the celebration.

Exhibitions of military equipment from Salavatsky and Sterlitamaksky DOSAAF driving schools can be seen at the holiday. Radio sportsmen from Neftekamsk branch of DOSAAF RB worked just on the square informing radiofans all over the world about this event. Stands telling about the legendary pilot and everyday events of republican DOSAAF were established on the Maidan. Race motorcycles were presented by Meleuzovsky and Neftekamsky branches. Sterlitamaksky branch of DOSAAF RB organized a field kitchen which treated with a buckwheat cereal more than 500 people. Besides, they arranged an exposition of small arms and a shooting gallery wh ere you could do some shooting from air rifles.

The main event of the Sabantuy became an air show with parachutists jumps. Planes from October aeroclub and eminent champions of classical parachute activity from Kumertausky aeroclub DOSAAF RB showed their skills of flight and free hovering in the air. Young model aeroplane builders from Chishmy showed air pirouettes of their model aeroplanes running on electric motors.
