International festival “Gagarin’s Days in Ufa” is declared open

International children’s and youth festival “Gagarin’s Days in Ufa” will be held on May 21-23 and the legends of Russian cosmonautics, headed by the twice Hero of the Soviet Union, space pilot of the USSR, colonel-general of aviation, the president of Russian Cosmonautics Federation Vladimir Kovalenok, arrived in Ufa: twice hero of the Soviet Union, space pilot of the USSR, mayor-general Viktor Gorbatko, twice hero of the Soviet Union, space pilot of the USSR Alexander Ivanchenkov, , the hero of the Soviet Union, space pilot of the USSR, honorable test pilot of the USSR, mayor-general Igor Volk, space pilot of the USSR, representative of the Federal Space Agency “ROSKOSMOS” Oleg Skripochka, honorable test pilot of Russia, test space pilot of Russia Ural Sultanov, executive director of Russian Cosmonautics Federation, colonel Vyacheslaw Bardenkov and executive officer of Russian Cosmonautics Federation Victoria Sklyarova. Besides, our compatriot, Soviet cinema producer, cameraman Makhmud Rafikov arrived in the capital RB too.

The program of this visit will be rather wide: the “round table”, devoted to the history of cosmonautics in Russia, meetings of cosmonauts with participants of the international children project “My Space World”, visits to schools of Ufa etc. Besides, cosmonauts will take part in solemn action “We are Gagarin’s Children”. Flower ceremony for talented pupils, young researchers and winners of numerous contests, held within the frames of the project “My Space World”, will take place here too.

The contest “My Space World” is initiated by Russian-German Friendship Society “Bashkortostan-Germany” and held under patronage of the President of Russian Cosmonautics Federation Vladimir Kovalenok, the chairman of the tutorial council of the charity fund “MARKHAMAT” Gulshat Khamitova and general director of the state historical-cultural museum “Moscow Kremlin”, Uri Gagarin’s daughter Elena Gagarina.
