Rustem Khamitov has taken place in a bicycle race

The President of Bashkortostan Rustem Khamitov has taken part in sports festival of bicycle movement “The Day of 1000 Cyclists”, devoted to the International Cyclist Day. Public affairs service of the President RB reports that together with participants of the action the President RB has ridden by bicycle from Lenin’s Square to Salavat Ulaev’s Square. The distance of the cycle race made up 10 kilometers and more than 1500 people were taking part in this sports festival, held in Ufa for the second time.

“Let me congratulate all of you with this festival, friends. Really, this is good festival for all people, leading healthy way of living” – Rustem Khamitov said to participants of the festival – “I hope that someday a half of Ufa population will change cars for bicycles. So we need cycleways in Ufa and as less cars as possible. Is it so? So let there be a bicycle! Let there be sport! Hurray!”

The bicycle festival “The Day of 1000 Cyclists” was for the first time held in Ufa in May 2011 and was dated to 100 days to Olympic Games in Sochi in 2014.
