The number of people, suffering HIV-infection, goes up in Bashkiria

“We register stable growth of HIV cases every year” – the Minister for health protection RB George Shebaev stated during his press-conference, held in the office of “Komsomolskaya Pravda” – “The largest number of HIV-infected people is registered in Neftekamsk, Salavat, Kumertau, Sterlitamac, Zianchurinsky, Blagoveshensky and Chishminsky regions RB”.

The Minister explains quick spreading of HIV-virus in abovementioned settlements by high concentration of population. Besides, there is a direct dependency between the number of HIV-infected and the number of drug addicts.

According to information of the Republican AIDS Center 952 HIV-infected were revealed in the Republic since the beginning of 2012 (606 people in 2011) and 146 pregnant HIV-infected women. 96 women have given birth to babies
