The first Christian crisis pregnancy center is opened in Bashkiria

The Christian crisis pregnancy center “You are not Alone” is opened in the town of Tuimazy. The center helps the women, standing before the choice, have they to save the baby’s life or not. At that any pregnant women, irrespective of her beliefs and found in difficult situation, may take advantage of the center’s services.

The center is located in ordinary two-room flat of five-storied tenement-house. It can contain three women and their babies at one time and they may stay in the center until they solve their problems. The center also helps women in their search for new job and housing.

Along with medics and psychologists the volunteers from local parish work in the center. The helpline for problems of motherhood is also working here round the clock and volunteers collect humanitarian aid for families with many kids.

The Christian crisis pregnancy center in Tuimazy has become the first such institution in Bashkiria. Its opening has become possible due to the contest of regional social projects “Protection of family, motherhood and childhood”, held by the Orthodox Christian Church last year. According to its results 14 projects from different Russian regions have won financial support at the total sum of 15 million rubles, including the project of the crisis pregnancy center, introduced by Tuimazy’s Saint Andrew Church. One million rubles have been allocated for establishment of the center in this town.
