Navruz will be celebrated in Bashkiria on April 14

The holiday of Navruz will be celebrated by residents of Bashkiria on April 14, the deputy director of the Friendship House RB Ilshat Sabitov reported to the news agency “Bashinform”.

The holiday of Navruz itself has taken place yesterday in the day of spring equinox. According to Ilshat Sabitov originally they planned to hold this celebrity closer to the real Navruz date – March 24. But because of weather conditions the holiday is shifted to warmer time.

Three historical-national centers (Bashkir “Temyasovo” and “Saitbaba”, Tatar “Klimovo”) intend to lay out their national yards as well as other national-cultural centers (including Turkmen, Kirghiz, Kazakh, Uzbek, Tajik, Azerbaijani and Dagestani). The program of the holiday expected to be very various: presentations of national yards, national games, and cookeries, contests and shows. Popular artists from the Middle Asia and from Caucasian republics expected to arrive too.

The spring holiday of Navruz was born in Iran, approximately more than three thousand years ago. It is connected with the beginning of sowing season. Before the holiday people traditionally decorate their houses, settle debts, cook national food and visit each other.
