Muslim clergy of Bashkortostan helps to struggle with drug addiction

All-Russian scientific-practical conference “State and public society as elements of mechanisms for opposition to drug aggression in Russia” has taken place in Ufa yesterday with participation of scientists, representatives of Federal Drug Circulation Control Service and law-enforcement bodies, functionaries and religious activists. Participants of the conference have considered wide circle of questions concerning the problem of drug addiction in the country.

The first deputy Chairman of the Clerical Muslim Dept RB Aup Bibarsov has mentioned in his report that all misfortunes, including drug addiction, originate from spiritual degradation of population, from disharmony between body and soul.

“Drug addiction is not the disease of body but of soul first of all” – he believes.

According to him the Clerical Muslim Dept RB actively works with population on prevention of drug spreading since Islam strictly prohibits not only alcohol but any other intoxicating substances.

Many speakers noted positive role of religious institutes in struggle with such horrible phenomenon as drug addiction.
