Withdrawal of Soviet troops from Afghanistan will be marked in Ufa

The 23th anniversary of Soviet troops’ withdrawal fr om Afghanistan will be marked in Ufa and a meeting and two concerts are dated to this date, the State Duma deputy Irshat Fakhritdinov reported to the news agency “Bashinform”.

“Festive arrangements will start the day before” – he said – “Thus, solemn evening party “Combat Height”, devoted to the memory of Russians, making service duty beyond the Fatherland, will take place on February 14 at 17 o’clock in the Congress-Hall and veterans of the Afghanistan’s war and other former warriors-internationalists with families are invited”.

Solemn meeting will take place in Ufa on February 15 at 12.30 near the Mourning Mother Monument. Further the meeting will be continued at the Ufa Southern Cemetery, wh ere the majority of Afghan veterans are buried. One more concert, devoted to the memory of warriors-internationalists will take place in Ufa the same evening.
