Rustem Khamitov has held a meeting with the head of National Medical Chamber Leonid Roshal

On January 18 the President of Bashkortostan Rustem Khamitov has held a work meeting with the head of the National Medical Chamber, a member of the national staff for support of Vladimir Putin, as a presidential contender, Leonid Roshal.

The public affairs service of the President RB reports in the course of the talk the parties indicated the necessity for the medical community to take an active part in formation of public society in the country. Leonid Roshal has declared for establishment of a public structure, able to take part in elaboration of the normative acts, called to make medical services more available and qualitative, and in his opinion the Medical Chamber might become such structure.

“Ministries for health protection aren’t engaged in professional activity abroad. They work with certification, financing and ideology and professional associations are engaged in all other spheres. Such associations are similar in all countries. This is the Medical Chamber in Germany and medical associations in America. They go in for all these spheres. Every doctor in Germany has to be a member of the Medical Chamber and obey the existing ethic norms and if one violates these norms, he will be expelled and deprived of the right to be busy with this professional activity” – the famous children’s surgeon mentioned.

Rustem Khamitov approved Leonid Roshal’s idea to establish the regional Medical Chamber in Bashkortostan.

“This is right approach and I’m drawing the analogy with the community of judges here. They have their own College. We know that some judges can be called disreputable and the College steadily filters such people off. It means that medics also should have their own college of professionals, able to determine the ethic and other norms for its members and not the Ministry for health protection. Professionals have to be self-organized and this is a wise decision” – the President RB mentioned.
