Making of Bashkir language machine fund is over in 2011

Scientists of the Institute of history, language and literature under the Ufa Scientific Center of the Russian Academy of Sciences have completed the work over generation of Bashkir language machine fund in 2011, thereby noticeably increasing the presence of Bashkir language in the global network. The machine fund of Bashkir language is the second after the machine fund of Russian language on the whole post-Soviet territory.
The machine fund of Bashkir language represents the search system of philological information, designed for linguists, pedagogues of Bashkir language, students and senior pupils in accordance with the state program for preservation, investigation and development of the languages of the nations, inhabiting Bashkortostan. The concept of the Bashkir language's machine fund was advanced still at the beginning of 90s last century. The works on making the fund started at the end of 2003. The machine fund of Bashkir language is designed and backed by the employees of the laboratory of linguistics and IT under the Institute of history, language and literature and the internet center of the Bashkir State University.
The fund consists of the interface, special software and the linguistic database. The system is designed on the base of Oracle 10 and is functioning on the specially allocated server in the internet center to the address: www.mfbl.ru. The information is available in three languages: Bashkir, Russian and English. At present time the system has several databases, which form the machine fund's sub-funds - the sub-fund of the general card file, lexical sub-fund, grammatical sub-fund, catalogues of handwritten and old printed books, experimental-phonetic sub-fund and sub-fund of dialects. Every day the number of references to the machine fund is growing and the list of the countries, where the references come from, includes Azerbaijan, Ukraine, Byelorussia, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, Austria, the Great Britain, Norway, Germany, Poland and other states. The fund is becoming an important channel for popularization of Bashkir language.
