On December 20 the President of Bashkortostan Rustem Khamitov has held a gathering of the steering committee for preparation and holding of the junior world hockey championship-2013 with participation of the members of the Government RB and heads of the Republican ministries and departments, involved in preparation for the championship. The championship will be held in the capital of Bashkortostan on the 26th of December 2011 - the 5th of January 2012.

The key moments of preparations were under consideration. First, this the main sites of the championship - "Ufa-Arena" and the Ufa Sports Palace and if the first doesn't arouse any problems, the second one, erected still in the 60s last century, fails to meet the international requirements. The President RB urged all participants of the gathering to solve this problem in the most optimal way and in the shortest possible time.

The second problem is the Ufa hotels. It is expected that about one million and a half guests will arrive in the city. The President has mentioned that Bashkiria has to provide all of them with the hotels of international level.

The cultural-entertaining program also needs certain polishing: the opening and the closure ceremonies, good rest for both hockey-players and guests, their safety during the New Year holidays etc.

Ten teams, divided into two sub-groups, will take part in the championship. The five with the Russian team will struggle at "Ufa-Arena" and the national team of Canada plus other four teams will determine the finalists at the Ufa Sports Palace.

The logo of the championship is already approved and the problem with its talisman still remains open.

Presentation of Ufa, as the main organizer of this sports forum, should be always perfected. Besides, the President RB posed the problem to provide the guests and participants of the championship with the high-quality medical services as well as their reception at the international airport "Ufa" (it is planned to increase the airport's carrying capacity from 200 people per hour up to 500).
