Olympiad in mathematics and surrounding world started in Ufa

The first stage of the city Olympiad in mathematics and surrounding world for the Cup by Uri Gagarin for junior pupils started in Ufa. This competition is a constituent of the international children contest of creative and scientific-research works “My Cosmic World”, established by the Russian-German Friendship Society “Bashkortostan-Germany” and held under the patronage of the twice Hero of the Soviet Union, the pilot-cosmonaut of the USSR, Colonel-General of the Air Forces, the President of the Russian Cosmonautics Federation Vladimir Kovalenok, the general director of the state historical-cultural museum-reserve “Moscow Kremlin” Elena Gagarina and the chairman of the tutorial council of the charity fund “MARKHAMAT” Gulshat Khamitova.

The Olympiad consists of three stages. The first stage for pupils will be over on December 15, the second regional stage will start after the New Year holidays and the final will be held from February 15 to March 15, 2012.

Winners will be rewarded with diplomas of the first, the second and the third degrees and with the prizes.

The Olympiad is established by the leading Republican institutes, Ufa administration, the Friendship Society “Bashkortostan-Germany” and held under the patronage of the Rectors Union RB and with the assistance of the Presidential administration RB, the Ministry of education RB, “United Russia” Bashkir division, the Russian Cosmonautics Federation and by the regional division of the all-Russian pedagogical assembly.
