Bashkortostan received World Health Organization's certificate as a region, comfortable for all ages

Bashkortostan is the only region in Russian Federation, which is rewarded with the certificate of the World Health Organization, confirming the inclusion of the Republican municipalities into the network of the towns, favorable for all ages. The certificate was presented to the Republic at the forum “Active Longevity”, held in Moscow in the beginning of November. Presentation of such certificate has become the recognition of Bashkortostan's merits in making favorable conditions for elderly people.

The forum “50 Plus” has taken place in the capital of Russia practically at the same time and the methods for prolongation of life in the country, the problems with demography in Russia, the experience in realization of regional medical-social programs and many other problems were raised in the course of it. Bashkortostan was presented there by the Minister for labor and population social protection RB Lenara Ivanova and by the representatives of administrations of Ufa, Kumertau, Sterlitamac, Neftekamsk, Tuimazy and the Bashkir division of the Russian State Social University.

As the Minister for health protection and social development of Russia Tatiana Golikova proposed, the next forum, devoted to formation of active longevity, is decided to hold in Ufa in 2012.
