Ufa to compete for the right to hold the World Games for national and non-Olympic kinds of sport in Ufa in 2021

On November 10 the President of Bashkortostan Rustem Khamitov has met the members of the Committee for national and non-Olympic kinds of sport – the Vice-President of the European Swimming League and a member of the International Swimming Federation Bureau Gennady Aleshin, the Vice-President of the Russian Judo Federation Alexander Besputin, the sports director of the Russian Committee for national and non-Olympic kinds of sport Eugene Selivanov and the Minister for youth policy and sport RB Alexander Nikerin, accompanying the guests.

The problems of active interaction between the Committee and the Ministry for sport, tourism and youth policy of Russian Federation concerning popularization of national and non-Olympic kinds of sport in Russia were under discussion in the course of the meeting.

The agreement concerning holding the World Games for national and non-Olympic kinds of sport in Ufa in 2021 was the main topic of the gathering. The works in this direction already started.

Holding of the Russian championship for national and non-Olympic kinds of sport in Ufa in 2012 will become the first swallow in this direction. It is expected the championship's program will consist of the majority of kinds of sport, included into the format of the World Games, i.e. of more than 30 kinds of “non-traditional” sport, such as bowling, pool, rock climbing etc.
