Every fifth citizens in Bashkortostan studies

Every fifth citizen of Bashkortostan or about 720 thousand people in a whole study at various education institutions of the Republic now.

According to information, presented by the Bashkir State Statistics Committee, 82 gymnasiums, 50 lyceums, two cadet institutions and 18 institutions with advanced study of various subjects were working in innovational mode in 2010-2011 school years. About 104 thousand people or 36% of the overall number of pupils studied at these institutions.

More than 1800 public and municipal daytime general education institutions, five non-state daytime and about 20 evening-time general education institutions worked in the general education system of Bashkortostan in 2010. The overall number of pupils amounted to almost 444 thousand.

The Republican system of secondary professional education includes 74 public, 14 non-state secondary special education institutions, three colleges, being the structural divisions of the institutes, and four divisions under the local institutes. At present time more than 80 thousand people study at the secondary special education institutions RB by 50 specialties.

15 self-dependent institutes – 12 public and three non-state plus 25 institute divisions, which parent institutions are located in other Russian regions, are busy with training the specialists with higher education. In 2010-2011 school years about 170 thousand students studied at the Republican institutes by 82 directions and 232 specialties.

30 post-graduate courses and nine centers for doctoral training train future scientists in Bashkortostan. In the beginning of 2011 3156 people studied at the post-graduate courses, 61 in the centers for doctoral training and there were 42 competitors for the doctor’s degree.
