The monograph “Protestantism and neo-Protestantism in post-Soviet Bashkortostan: formation and functioning” by the researcher of the Ufa Scientific Center under the Russian Academy of Sciences Alexander Klyashev is published by the international publishing house “Lambert Academic Publishing” (LAP).
At present time there are more than one hundred religious communities, presenting practically the whole spectrum of Christian denominations, united by the paradigm of Reformation – Lutherans, Genevans, Pentecosts and many others – in Bashkortostan. More than four thousand citizens RB are the Protestants and every third of them is the representative of either Bashkir or Tatar nation. Protestant and neo-Protestant communities actively help the state in solution of actual social problems, contributing to recovery of moral climate in the Republic, rendering moneyed assistance to needy people, working with drug addicts and alcoholics and contributing to keeping international and inter-confessional peace and harmony in Bashkortostan.
Alexander Klyashev has undertaken the attempt to outline the state of Protestant and neo-Protestant communities on the present stage, investigating the peculiarities of their religious everyday practice and social activity. The book is addressed to historians, religious specialists, public employees and to all those, who are really interested in confessional problems.
