The Minister of internal affairs in Republic of Bashkortostan, Police Mayor-General Michael Zakomaldin started working today. The deputy Minister of internal affairs of Russia Sergey Gerasimov introduced him to the staff. The head of the Bashkir Ministry of internal affairs is a graduate of the Higher Police School in Omsk as well as his predecessor Igor Aleshin.
His complimentary address was very short: “I’d like to say thanks to the leadership of the country and to the leadership of the Russian Ministry of internal affairs for this vote of confidence since the appointment to such post really stands for high confidence and I want to assure that this confidence will be justified”.
Before appointment to Bashkortostan the Mayor-General headed the Ministry of internal affairs in Karelia.
The Prime-Minister of the Government RB Azamat Ilimbetov welcomed the new Minister:
“Your appointment to this post falls on rather uneasy period of the reforms in the police system but the Bashkir guards serve for a full due and I am sure that with such colleagues you will be equal to any task. We are happy that you are appointed to this post as an enterprising and experienced leader”.
After the official introduction ceremony Michael Zakomaldin communicated with the press. He has stated that “the struggle with economic criminality and corruption won’t go down but on the contrary will be strengthened”. In order to solve problematic situation the new Minister doesn’t intend to appeal to his predecessor – “I have enough experience and knowledge to make the solutions self-dependently”.
