The festival of Kazan Godmother Icon to be held in Beloretsky region

The Republican national festival of Kazan Godmother Icon will take place on July 21 in the village VERHNIY AVZYAN, Beloretsky region of Bashkortostan. This Christian festival will be held under the vault of the local Kazan Godmother Church.

The festival will begin with the water-consecration prayer. Further the festival’s program includes the Blessed Liturgy and the religious procession. The secular part of the festival will include the show of local folk-bands, tastings and jolly games.

The Kazan Godmother Church in VERHNIY AVZYAN was erected before the revolution. In the Soviet times there was a rural club here. At present time the church is gradually restored. The festival of Kazan Godmother Icon was restored in the village in 2009.
