Ufa will again be the capital of world checkers

Two large international checkers competitions will take place in Ufa on July 15-24. Thus, the world checkers blitzkrieg championship will take place on July 15-17 and the classical checkers championship – on July 18-24. Both tournaments will be held in the conference-hall of the “AMAKS-Tourist-Hotel”.

The Vice-President of the Russian Checkers Federation Uri Chertok reports more than 100 draught-players have already agreed to take part in the competitions. Bashkortostan will be presented by 25 sportsmen from Ufa, Meleuz, Yanaul and Sterlitamac, including the famous draught-players Tamara Tansykkuzina and Muradullo Amrillaev.

The prize fund of the World Cup amounts to two million rubles and that of the world championship – one million rubles.
