Rustem Khamitov: «the Bashkir language does not need an artificial support»

— Our Bashkir language is a magnificent, strong, powerful, beautiful language, — Rustem Khamitov, the President of Bashkortostan told journalists at the briefing today. —More than two million people speak this language. It does not need any artificial support.

— Today the situation is politized, — the head of the region is sure. — And the main accent is given to studying of the Bashkir language at our schools.

The President of Bashkortostan marked that a part of the population, actually, does not want to study it.

There should be no pedagogical staff reduction in this connection.

— I think that 99 % of teachers will save their jobs. Because actually overwhelming majority of people understand, that knowing of two, three languages is a good advantage, — the President of Bashkortostan considers. — As the knowledge of the Bashkir language allows to study the whole group of Turkic languages.

Rustem Khamitov considers that is absolutely incorrect to politize this question, to create public fix on it.

—Our laws define that the state languages of Bashkortostan Republic are studied at schools, and they will be studied.

— The Bashkir language is self-sufficient, —the President of Bashkortostan underlined once again. We will make advances to those people who do not want for various reasons to study it and occupy an active position in this question.
