Rustem Khamitov: “Family is the unconditional priority in our work”

“Family and demography: social potential for development of international concord” – this is the slogan the international congress “Russian family” is held in Ufa under. This already the 8th forum is dated to the Year for consolidation of international accord, announced in Republic of Bashkortostan in 2011. Its participants – the representatives of more than 40 Russian regions, CIS and other foreign states – discuss the peculiarities and prospects of family policy in multinational and multi-confessional society, the problems of modern demography, the strategy in development of family policy in the country and its legislative provision.

Welcoming the delegates the President RB Rustem Khamitov mentioned the national culture grew up from a family.

“Preservation and development of the traditional family way of life is the crucial aim for culture of every nation” – he said – “The values of a strong and big family, based on love and not on the material interest are peculiar to the nations of Bashkortostan as well as of Russia in a whole. Unfortunately these values are subjected to real threats now and their revival with the help of art, propaganda and economic stimulation is the aim of paramount importance both for the society and the Government”.

As Rustem Khamitov underscored, “Family is the most important resource for development of national identity” and paid attention of all comers to the fact that the representatives of more than 100 nationalities settled in Bashkortostan.

“The centuries-old experience of Bashkortostan proves that deep respect for a neighbor, his culture and language is fostered in the family first of all, in which the memory about peaceful coexistence should be passed from generation to generation practically on the gene level” – Rustem Khamitov added – “And while such family is strong, no bane of nationalism is able to penetrate into the society. Bashkortostan is a bright example of historically prevalent tolerance and by all its centuries-old history it proves the vitality of peaceful scenario of coexistence of the nations”.

In conclusion the President RB has underscored that the care of family well-being and protection of motherhood and childhood remains the key priority in the social policy RB. “Family is the unconditional priority in our work” – he stated.
