UNESCO delegation will visit Bashkiria

The delegation of Russian Federation Commission on UNESCO affairs will stay in Ufa on April 4-6 and it consists of the representatives of the Commission’s Secretariat and the UNESCO Coordination committee. The delegation is headed by the secretary of the commission Gregory Ordjonikidze.

The Committee RB on UNESCO affairs reports in the course of the visit the guests will take part in discussion of the questions, related to participation RB in UNESCO international forums and conferences and to preservation of historical, cultural and natural heritage of our region. The possibility to include some unique objects in Bashkortostan into the list of UNESCO world heritage will be under consideration too. The meeting of UNESCO Coordination committee will take place on April 5 at the Bashkir State University. After that the meeting of the guests with the activists of UNESCO Associated schools is scheduled and within the frames of this meeting the new associated schools will receive the international Paris certificates. The meeting with the clergy of the Central Clerical Muslim Dept of Russia will take place also the same day. The show of the masters of Arts RB will take place in the Congress-Hall in the evening.

On April 6 the guests will visit the National Museum RB, the Museum of archeology and ethnography under the Institute of ethnological investigations RB, the Bashkir Institute of social technologies and the Bashkir State Pedagogical University by Miftahetdin Akmullah.

For the reference: The cooperation Agreement-Communiqué between the Government of Bashkiria and UNESCO was signed on March 27, 2008, in Paris. This agreement determined the basic directions in the long-term cooperation between UNESCO and RB.
