Bashkir scientists have held a seminar with bee-keepers in Sharansky region

Bee-keeping is an ancient business line in Bashkortostan, having historical roots, the millennial experience and traditions. Bashkir honey is considered one of the main Republican symbols. Thus, there are 4780 bee-families in Sharansky region RB, where forests occupy 24% of its territory. According to information of the local administration the number of bee-families is the highest in Michurinsky settlement, where the number of bee-hives reaches more than one and a half thousand. At that local bee-keepers prefer keeping more than 100 bee-families in their yards.

The seminar for local bee-keepers has taken place yesterday in the village Sharan. It was organized by the specialists of the Bashkir scientific-research center on bee-keeping and apitherapy.

“Taking the adaptation of the Bashkir wild bee to the local climatic conditions and the valuable properties of the local honey, we have to preserve and reproduce this bee in every way possible” – the General Director of the center Amir Ishemgulov said, taking the floor before the bee-keepers. He supposes that in the climatic conditions of Bashkiria there is no necessity to import the bees of other stocks from other Russian regions and urges the bee-keepers to concentrate their efforts on rearing local bees.

Specialists of the center told the comers about biology of the Bashkir nectariferous bee, analyzed the main bee diseases and shared the methods of medical treatment. In opinion of the seminar’s participants the efficiency of such field training courses for bee-keepers is very high.
