Internet journalists in Bashkiria intend to approve their “moral code”

The journalists of the Bashkir online mass-media are offered to approve a sort of their code of honor. The project of such Charter is placed on the site of the Journalists Union RB.
“Now the document is still free for discussions” – the Union’s secretary Marat Sattarov said to the news agency “Bashinform” – “Everybody may send proposals to the e-mail, specified on our site, till the end of March and after that the Charter will be finally approved taking all incoming recommendations into account”.
The decision concerning introduction of such document has been made in Ufa at the last gathering with the participation of the Minister of communication and mass communications RB Boris Melkoedov, mass-media representatives, internet providers and supervisory boards. The striving for making the internet content worthy of the readers’ confidence and for teaching the users to get to know what is “garbage” in the world network and what is “library” has become the occasion for holding such gathering
At present time the Charter contains five points. The journalists are offered to take the obligation to specify their contact addresses for feedback upon themselves, to give all parties involved a chance to express their positions, to prevent the appearance of the messages, containing insults on ethnic, social, racial and other bases, not to use foul language and to desist from stirring animosity in any form.
The mass-media, which sign the Charter, receive the right to use the special logo on their sites - a sort of the “quality sign”, which in accordance with the idea of the authors should become the symbol of special confidence of the readers.
