Cochlear implantation receives further progress in Bashkiria

The Republican goal-oriented program “Cochlear implantation in Republic of Bashkortostan in 2011-2013” will be worked up in Bashkiria and the President RB Rustem Khamitov already signed the corresponding decree, the press-service of the Government RB reported to “Bashinform”.

The last program “Cochlear implantation in RB in 2008-2010” allowed 193 children to restore their hearing. At present time 128 children live and found in the process of recovery after cochlear implantation and other 1235 children with the disabilities in hearing are found under close medical surveillance. The new project, developed by the regional Ministry of health protection RB, is oriented towards further perfection of the health protection system, including the audio-screening among babies on the level of 95% and continuation of the work on implantation of the cochlear implants.
