Bashkiria masters a new direction of high-tech medical aid

Bashkir medics master new directions of high-tech medical aid. The operations with the use of the newest medical equipment – the lasers, working on carbonic acid gas – are practiced by the doctors at the Ufa division of the Scientific-Research Otolaryngology Center under the Federal Medical-Biological Agency of Russia. The first two operations with the use of such lasers were performed the day before at the Republican clinical hospital by Kuvatov under the guidance of the specialists from Moscow.

“Earlier the patients had to go either to Moscow or Saint-Petersburg for treatment of various pathologies” – the senior specialist of the Otolaryngology Center Ibragim Najmutdinov says – “Now we can perform such operations in Ufa”.

As the specialist says, the use of CO2-laser for treatment of various larynx diseases has its undisputable pluses. The operations, performed with the help of such lasers are endoscopic, i.e. they don’t require serious surgical interference and contribute to fast recovery of the patients. Moreover, such operations are bloodless, minimally traumatic and practically don’t cause any reactions.

It should be mentioned that one such operation costs almost 90 thousand rubles and the number of the patients, who need such aid, is high enough.

“This high-tech medical aid to population RB is rendered at the expense of the federal budget, so our operations and treatment are absolutely free for them. The CO2-laser was purchased by us also at the expense of the federal exchequer and it cost more than 5 million rubles” – the director of the division Adip Mukminov added.
