Muslims come out against abortions

Muslims always came out against abortions, the Supreme Mufti, the Chairman of the Central Clerical Muslim Dept of Russia Talgat Tadjuddin stated to the news agency “Bashinform”.

“Killing of an innocent child was always vetoed by our religion” – the Mufti said – “Since it’s considered a great sin. According to the Islamic law abortions are permitted only if it can do an irreparable harm to the mother’s health and such procedure can be done only before four months of pregnancy. It is absolutely prohibited in later terms”.

Earlier the chairman of the interregional public organization “Peasant ORATAYSKAYA School” Paul Kugay has written the letter to the President of Russia Dmitry Medvedev with the proposal to introduce certain measures on lowering the number of abortions with the subsequent total prohibition. This initiative is already supported by many public activists. The Archbishop of Ufa and Sterlitamac Nikon also joined this movement.
