Bashkir functionaries intend to disaccustom population of Bashkiria to hard drinking

A big anti-drinking campaign is ready to start in Bashkiria and the public movement “Sober Bashkortostan” starts working in the Republic already in December. The movement is actively supported by the World Bashkir Kurultay executive committee, Russian Congress executive committee RB, the international public organization “The union of struggle for national soberness” and by the public anti-alcohol organizations from several Republican towns (Sibay, Utchaly and Neftekamsk).

One of the initiators of “Sober Bashkortostan” movement Robber Davletshin reports to the news agency “Bashinform” this new organization is ready to unite scientists and public activists, engaged in prevention of drug, tobacco and alcohol use among youth for many years. The members of the initiative group are certain that alcohol is the main reason of the present demographic catastrophe and intend either to extirpate this evil on the territory of Bashkiria or to reduce its scales to minimum.
