Rustem Khamitov: Bashkortostan must have a university of federal level

The President of Bashkortostan Rustem Khamitov has held the meeting of the Government RB, devoted to professional education, on Monday, November 15, and the Concept on development of professional education in the Republic in 2011-2015 was debated within its frames.

Opening the gathering the head of the region has mentioned the education system RB wasn’t ready for training the graduates, demanded in the economics today, in full measure.

“Unfortunately our institutes and other education institutions still graduate the specialists, which have to be either trained additionally or fully retrained after” – Rustem Khamitov has underscored – “In order to correct this situation we need total mobilization of the efforts of all participants of the labor market and educational services – ministries, departments, employers and education institutions themselves”.

The President RB has underscored not without compunction that the Republic still has no institutes with the status of either federal or national research university.

“There are no our institutes in the list of seven federal and 29 national research institutes, which the leadership of the country considers the best” – he said – “And it is not the result of somebody’s intrigues, we just have to work better”.

“It is quite clear that our best school-leavers go entering the big research centers, the same federal and national research institutes in Moscow, Saint-Petersburg, Kazan and Yekaterinburg and after the end of their studies the best graduates find jobs there too and it is called the brain drain”.

Rustem Khamitov suggested that the site, where the institutes have to coordinate their activity with the local business community, should be established in the Republic and it can be a joint project with the Trade-Industry Chamber RB.

“This cooperation has to be of strategic character and employers have to take part in training of their future employees” – the President stated – “In order to avoid their retraining but getting the specialists, ready to stat working at once”.

In completion Rustem Khamitov has added that the program for obtaining the status of federal or, as a minimum, national research institute in the Republic has to be fulfilled: “Bashkortostan must have a university of federal level and I’m urging all rectors to become more active in this direction” – the President of Bashkortostan underscored.
