Bashkir lawyers may defend their theses in Ufa

The portback election meeting of the regional division of “The Association of Russian Lawyers” is held today in the Congress-Hall, Ufa. The President of Bashkortostan Rustem Khamitov, the chairman of “The Association of Russian Lawyers”, the chairman of the State Duma committee for civil, criminal, arbitrary and remedial legislation Paul Krasheninnikov and the chairman of the State Council-Kurultay-RB Constantine Tolkatchv participated in its work.
“Any modern well-developed state is peculiar with the efficient work of its legal system” – the President of Bashkortostan said – “This system guarantees that the person may figure on what it should be by the law. There are many highly qualified jurists in our Republic, two years ago they’ve joined the Association of Russian Lawyers and work at rather high level, but there are the directions, which have to be intensified”.
First of all, local jurists have to develop free juridical consulting and within the frames of this work the special site should be launched in the nearest future – the juridical portal, called to contribute to popularization of the legal culture. In opinion of Rustem Khamitov jurists have to hold the public examination of the laws, passed by the deputies. Rustem Khamitov has also suggested that the youth forum of Russian lawyers should be held in the Republic. He promised the lawyers his backing and said it was decided to establish the regional professional contest “Lawyer of the Year”. “I wonder that our institutes still don’t have the dissertation committee on jurisprudence in Bashkiria and our lawyers have to defend their theses in other Russian cities. This situation has to be cardinally changed” – the President RB said.
Paul Krasheninnikov has shortly told about the latest important news: thus, the Patent Court will be established in Russia and it will be busy with the problems of intellectual property; the committee of inquiry will be separated from the Office of Public Prosecutor and investigation will be concentrated in one body. Notary’s offices also expect quick reforms – the notaries will receive the function of free consulting. “I hope the reforms in the Ministry of internal affairs and in the Committee of inquiry will run step-by-step and very cautiously” – Paul Krasheninnikov said – “And, sure, these reforms should be corrected in the future: for example, my opinion is that only people, aged older than 21, may be recruited to the law-enforcement bodies”.
