13 million square meters of housing will be erected in Ufa by 2025

About 13 million square meters of housing is planned to erect in Ufa by 2025 and in this case the housing will reach 25,9 square meters per one person, the Ufa Mayor Paul Kachkaev reported on Wednesday during the discussion of Ufa’s general layout.
“For today the housing in Ufa makes up about 22,1 square meter per one person” – he said – “This figure nearly corresponds to the average data among the biggest Russian cities but in order to reach the preplanned indices we have to increase the construction rates approximately by 10% per year”.
Paul Kachkaev has highlighted the main strategic directions in development of the city, taken into account when working up the general layout: development of the transport infrastructure and construction of the high-speed highways, preservation and reconstruction of the historical center of the city, expansion of the housing construction beyond the so-called Ufa peninsula and development of low-height building.
“Ufa develops itself according to the general layout since 1803” – Paul Kachkaev reported – “The last general layout has been approved in 1996. Since 2006 we are correcting the last general layout, which is to be divided into two stages – before 2015 and after 2025”.
According to the Ufa Mayor the main reasons, hampering the development of Ufa today are: very intense traffic and correspondingly high load on the streets and the absence of wide transport communication in the city between its last western and eastern points (the micro-district of ZATON and the area behind Ufa-river).
