Two presidents have discussed the prospects of checkers development in Bashkortostan

On October 18, Monday, the President of Bashkortostan Rustem Khamitov has held a meeting with the President of the World Checkers Federation M-r Harry Otten from Netherlands in Ufa.

The presidents were discussing not only the world checkers championship for women, held in Ufa now, but further cooperation between our Republic and the international checkers federation.

The President of Bashkortostan has expressed hope that Ufa will become not just the Russian checkers capital but the world checkers center too in the future.

Rustem Khamitov and Harry Otten were discussing the possibility to hold one of the stages of the big four-stage checkers series in Ufa. The series will be over in China and about 80 draught-players, both men and women, former and active world champions, intend to take part in it.
