Solemn opening of the international checkers championship for women has taken place in Ufa

The official opening of the international checkers championship for women has taken place in Ufa, at the Bashkir State Academic Dramatic Theater by M. Gafuri on Sunday, October 17.

The deputy Prime-Minister of the Government RB Zugura Rakhmatullina has read out the address to the participants and organizers of the championship and to the visitors on behalf of the President of Bashkortostan.

“Dear friends! Let me welcome you at the opening of the international checkers championship for women. We are proud that our Republic is chosen the place for holding of this main event for the whole checkers’ community and we regard this remarkable event as the sign of wide recognition of the achievements of our draught-players on the Russian and global arena. I am sure the championship will represent an exciting and captivating battle and the atmosphere of honest competition, raising the popularity of this ancient kind of sport and giving an additional impulse to its development among youth. I wish all participants and guests of the championship to feel the hospitality of Bashkortostan and support of our fans in full measure”.
