The population census is reaching the homestretch

Preparation for the all-Russian population census-2010 has become the key question at the operative meeting in Ufa administration yesterday.

As the head of Ufa administration’s state statistics department Valentine Sotnichenko reported, the preparation stage of the census is close to the end. In order to hold the census on the territory of Ufa 160 census divisions and 638 instructor’s divisions will be opened in the city. In a whole more than 4,5 thousand people will be involved in the census holding in Ufa. Students will be attracted to the census as copyists and the teaching staff of the Ufa educational institutions, pensioners, housewives and other categories of citizens will be used as the heads of the census divisions and instructors.

The census will be held within the period between the 14th and the 25th of October and all people on the territory of the country – both citizens of Russia and foreigners – will be registered that time. Everybody will be offered to answer 25 questions, which were composed taking the recommendations of the United Nations Organization into account. Basing on the answers it will be possible to make the picture of the living conditions of Russian population.
