Bashkir forests are free from fires

There are no active forest fires in Bashkiria for today due to the heavy rains practically on the whole territory of the Republic.

The press-secretary of the Ministry of forestry RB Aibulat Gainullin told the news agency “Bashinform” that in case of emergency 400 firemen were ready to start struggling with the fires. A part of them already took part in the fire extinguishing.

“Though we’ve managed to cope with the ignitions in the Bashkir forests, it’s no time to relax” – he said – “The summer is close to the end but we’ll face new problems soon – the autumn fires and in connection with the harvest time the probability of such fires is rather high. We are ready to undertake all necessary steps to avoid this dangerous situation”.

From the beginning of the fire-hazardous season 540 forest ignitions have been registered in Bashkiria and the total area, seized by the fires, made up 10800 hectares.
