Ufa chess players are taking part in the international tournament “Minsk Open-2010”

The international chess tournament “Minsk Open-2010” started in the capital of Byelorussia and two sportsmen from Ufa are taking part in it: FIDE master Gore Glidgan and the candidate to the masters of sport Ilyas Gazizov. In the first tour Gore Glidgan prevailed over Dmitry Ponyavin (Byelorussia, FIDE rate-1929) and Ilyas Gazizov yielded to Ivan Konyshko (Byelorussia, 1698).
The tournament is held by the Swiss system – nine tours and 122 chess players from seven countries are taking part in it (Byelorussia, Russia, Ukraine, Netherlands, Lithuania, Kazakhstan and Greece). The prize pool is 10000 USD. The tournament will be over on August 12.
