The World TV Award is registered in Ufa

The VII international documentary filmfest, organized by UNESCO and the Asian-Pacific TV-radio broadcasting development Institute is over in Malaysia.

26 documentary works fr om all continents of the globe have reached the contest’s final and only one film was nominated to the World TV Award. The documentary film, shot by the TV-radio company “Bashkortostan” and called “In two winters and 20 years” was announced the winner. This is the film about religious understanding and tolerance, produced by the well-known producer and TV-journalist Venera Umagulova.

The international jury had announced the winner’s name in Beijing at the Pacific Media Summit in May and the award was presented in July in Macao. For the whole time of this contest Russia receives such prestigious award for the first time.

The solemn awarding ceremony has taken place at the general conference of the Asian-Pacific TV-radio broadcasting development Institute (AIBD) and the Asian-Pacific Broadcasting Union (ABU). The Minister of culture Chen Y has presented the award to Veneral Umagulova on behalf of the Macao Governor.

AIBD is a non-commercial, non-governmental professional organization. It is established in 1964 for assistance to development of TV-radio broadcasting development in the Asian-Pacific region – the most densely populated area in the world, wh ere almost four billion people (60%) of the Earth’s population live. Today the union is considered the third in the world of eight broadcasting world unions. Its staff includes 194 members from 57 countries of Asia, Europe, Africa and Australia.
