14088 people have suffered from tick bites in Bashkortostan

14088 citizens of Bashkortostan asked for medical help after tick bites, including 26% of children, the Russian Agency for Health and Consumer Rights in RB reports.

5750 ticks were examined in the laboratories and only 98 ticks (1,7%) turned out to be infected with the encephalitis virus.

At present time 13 confirmed cases of falling sick with the virus encephalitis are registered in the Republic. In 2009 there were 24 registered cases for the same period of time.
