VII All-Russian competition of youth research projects in the field of energy sector started

Today the applications acceptance for grants of the VII All-Russian competition of youth research projects in the field of energy sector «Energy of Youth» of the Fund «Global Energy» began. Reception of works will last till November 1, 2010, the "Bashinform" agency was informed in the Fund press-service. Then the commission of experts of the International Committee on the «Global Energy» Award will define the winners.

The Fund «Global Energy» gives to the winners of the competition «Energy of Youth» grants for continuation of their scientific research and workings out. In 2010, the sum of each grant will make about 500 thousand roubles. Winners will receive also diplomas and special prizes.

In the greeting to participants and visitors of the ceremony of winners rewarding of the competition «Energy of Youth-2009» the President of Russia Dmitry Medvedev marked: «Effective development of domestic fuel and energy complex and success of upgrade of our economy in many respects depend on you, our new generation of scientists. In modern Russia, great attention is paid to the system formation of commercializing scientific ideas. And the competition «Energy of Youth »– is a worthy example of support of innovative search».

We shall remind that the competition «Energy of Youth» is spent by the Fund «Global Energy» among profile scientific and educational institutions of the Russian Federation since 2004. According to the press-secretary of the Fund «Global Energy» Ekaterina Agibalova, the competition program covers about 200 scientific and educational institutions of energy profile in more than 50 settlements of Russia. 122 winners from 30 research centres of Vladivostok, Irkutsk, Kazan, Moscow, Nizhni Novgorod, Novosibirsk, Obninsk, St.-Petersburg, Tomsk and Ufa have already got target-oriented financial support of the projects. The total amount of the allocated grants made 17,5 million roubles.

Grants are given for two years. After the expiry of this term, the winners of the competition make reports at the scientific-practical symposium «Energy of Thought». It takes place annually in the frameworks of "Laureate Week» of the «Global Energy» Award.
