Two tick-borne encephalitis cases are registered in Bashkortostan

Two tick-borne encephalitis cases are currently registered in Bashkortostan. According to the Directorate of the Russian Agency for Health and Consumer Rights in Bashkortostan, as of July 1, 13261 people turned to medical and treatment facilities of the Republic because of tick bites. 26% of them are children.
5562 ticks have been examined in the laboratory of the Sanitary and Epidemiological Centre of Bashkortostan, 95 of them (1.7%) are infected with tick-borne encephalitis.
Owing to modern immunoglobulin preventive treatment received by 3179 people (24% of those who sought medical assistance), the sickness rate is kept low.
