“Ural Mono-2010” started in Ufa

The international Turk music festival “Ural Mono-2010” started in Ufa. Its solemn opening has taken place in the Bashkir State Philharmonic Society by Khusain Akhmetov. The first elimination stage for the participants was held here too.

The deputy Minister of culture and national politics RB Rosalia Biglova welcomed the participants and guests of "Ural Mono-2010". She wished them interesting creative competition, plenty of new impressions and good spirits for all days of the festival.

“Holding of the international forum “Ural Mono” in Ufa has become a good tradition thanks to its organizers and special attention from the direction of the Republican authority, the international organization "TURKSOY" and the Russian Ministry of culture, which included our festival to the federal goal-oriented program “The Culture of Russia” since this year” – she said.

The deputy Minister has mentioned that for 15 years of existence the festival “Ural Mono” developed into a wide-scaled international project, uniting the brotherly Turk nations and positioning Bashkortostan as the open and hospitable Republic.

“In different years the authority of “Ural Mono” attracted young vocalists from China, Turkey, Mongolia, Kazakhstan and other foreign countries” – the deputy Minister reported.

About 60 vocalists from 15 Turk countries gathered in Ufa this year – representatives of Kazakhstan, Turkmenistan, Azerbaijan, Crimea (Ukraine), Tuva, Khakassia, Tatarstan, Mari Al, Altai, Dagestan, Chechen Republic, Yakutia, Kabardino-Balkaria, Stavropol and other regions.

The festival actions will be held in Ufa during three days. The names of the winners will be announced on June 5.
