International ophthalmologic conference “West-East” is held in Ufa

The international ophthalmologic surgery conference “West-East” started working in Ufa with the participation of the guests from Germany, Italy, the Great Britain, India and Kazakhstan and the leading specialists in sphere of eye diseases of Russia and Bashkortostan – about 500 people in a whole. Along with the practical part, consisting of the ophthalmologic operations, the conference includes various symposiums, courses and seminars and the exhibition of pharmaceutical products, the newest surgical technologies and medical equipment.

“The designs of Bashkir ophthalmologists face high demand all over the world today and we have enough to share with our colleagues” – the director of the Ufa’s research eye diseases Institute under the Academy of sciences RB Mukharram Bikbov says. According to him the fact that the Institute renders its services to the citizens RB absolutely free, at the expense of the Republican budget, arouses special interest among the majority of the conference’s participants. Such practice isn’t applied anywhere else in Russia.
