The pupil of the Republican Eco-Biological Centre and ninth former of Ufa gymnasium N115 Alexei Mitin became the prizewinner of the All-Russian JUNIOR 2010 Contest of Schoolchildren's Scientific Papers. His paper "Environmental influence on bees' efficiency" won the second place in the Biology and Ecology Category.
"This year we took part in this contest for the first time and managed to gain the victory on the first try," Ekaterina Kosheleva, the director of the Republican Eco-Biological Centre, shares her impressions. "Next year we are planning to delegate more participants."
The all-Russian final of the International Science and Engineering Fair, ISEF, took place in Moscow in the Nuclear Research Institute under Moscow Engineering and Physics Institute.
About 250 schoolchildren from all over the country represented their projects in five sections: Mathematics, Physics and Astronomy, Information Technologies, Biology and Ecology, Chemistry.
By the way, the team of schoolchildren, which will represent Russia in the international final of Intel ISEF held annually in the USA by Science Service, will be formed out of the winners and laureates of the JUNIOR Contest.
