Ufa’s hockey club “Salavat Ulaev” delegates the largest number of Olympians from Bashkortostan to Vancouver-2010
The list of 175 sportsmen is approved by the executive committee of Russian Olympic Committee as the staff of the Russian national team, which will take part in the XXI winter Olympic Games in Vancouver.
“The sportsmen will present 31 regions of the country” – the Vice President of the Russian Olympic Committee Vladimir Vasin reported to “RIA NOVOSTI” – “Officially the list will be published on February 1”.
As the Minister of youth policy, sport and tourism RB Alexander Nikerin reported to the news-agency “Bashinform”, the list of Olympians from Bashkortostan includes the hockey players from “Salavat Ulaev” Dmitry Kalinin, Sergey Zinoviev, Alexander Radulov and Viktor Kozlov (plus the goalkeeper Alexander Eremenko and full-backs Vitally Proshkin and Oleg Tverdovsky in the reserve), biathlonist Maxim Chudov, short-track speed-skaters Simeon Elistratov and Ruslan Zakharov, ski-jumper Dmitry Vasiliev, Nordic skier Sergey Maslennikov and Alpine skier Leisan Rayanova. Inclusion into the list of the bobsledder Dmitry Abramovitch and Artem Danilov (free-style, ski-cross) is still open to question.
