Oncological service RB will be supplied with the newest equipment

460 million rubles from the federal exchequer will be sent to Republic of Bashkortostan for equipping of the Republican clinical oncological dispensary. In total complexity the federal exchequer will allocate more than 5 billion rubles for improvement of medical aid to the patients with oncological ailments in 2010. It is planned to equip three federal health institutions, one district and nine regional oncological dispensaries, including the dispensary in Bashkortostan.

Russian authorities intend to purchase the newest medical equipment, including ultrasonic scanners, tomographs, endoscope equipment and many other things, the chief doctor of the dispensary RB Vladimir Ruchkin reported. He added that similar equipment was present in the dispensary’s arsenal before but at present time this equipment became out of date both physically and morally and thus was gradually withdrawn from exploitation.

The index of oncological sickness rate in Bashkortostan remains stably low as compared with other regions in the staff of Volga federal district. In 2009 it made just 275,7 cases per 100 thousand people. At present time 68503 patients are registered in the Republic.
