Museum of geology and minerals RB is going to celebrate the 75th anniversary

The Museum of geology and minerals RB is going to celebrate its 75th anniversary and solemn meeting, devoted to this event, has taken place in Ministry of nature management an ecology RB. The Minister of nature management and ecology RB Idel Shayakhmetov called the museum the founder of the history of geology and the arsenal of the samples of Republican minerals.

The Museum of geology and minerals RB is considered one of the most interesting museums in Ufa. It was established in 1934 on the base of the first geological collections of stones, collected in the course of the numerous initial geological surveys. At present time the number of the museum’s exhibits is close to 5,5 thousand and the most beautiful samples of stones and minerals can be seen in three halls of the museum on the area more than 300 square meters. The first hall acquaints visitors with the geological structure of the region and its glass cases demonstrate the samples of stones of South Ural and pre-Ural zone. The second hall is devoted to the main minerals, laid in the entrails of Bashkortostan, and the glass cases of the third hall demonstrate gemstones and minerals.

The map of our Republic, made of gemstones, always arouses high interest among visitors and the South Ural’s jaspers, having no analogues in the world by the richness of the color spectrum, stand on the special position on the map. Here one can admire the unique samples of rock crystal and topaz, pink rhodonite and white landscape diopside, cherry-colored sapphire and algal limestone, magnesite and barite, quartz and aventurine.
