The World AIDS Day is called upon to remind people about tolerant attitude to the HIV infected

December 1 is the World AIDS Day. This date serves to consolidation of organized actions aimed at fighting pandemic of HIV infection spreading all over the world, Zufar Murtazin, the RB first deputy Minister of Health said at the press conference held at the news agency "Bashinform".
Following the January 1988 meeting of Health Ministers in London, a decision was taken that December 1 would annually be observed as World AIDS Day.
The symbol of fighting AIDS is a red ribbon as a sign of understanding of AIDS.
The topic of the World AIDS Day this year is Universal Access and Human Rights.
According to Rafael Yapparov, the chief physician of the Republican Centre of Prevention and Fighting AIDS and Infectious Diseases, the slogans of the Day - Stop AIDS. Keep the Promise, I Am Welcome and I Enjoy MyRights - highlight still vexed problems of stigmatization and discrimination of the HIV infected.
There are 7350 HIV infected people in Bashkortostan now, 64% of them are men.
