Interregional Conference on archaeography of the South Urals took place in Ufa

The 9th Interregional research and practice conference "Archaeography of the South Urals. The State Archive Service of Bashkortostan: its history and modern period" has been held in Ufa in the conference hall of Bashinform News Agency. It was devoted to the 90th anniversary of the State Archive Service of Bashkortostan. Its organisers were the Department of Archives under Government RB, the Institute of Ethnological Study, the Academy of Sciences RB and the Bashkir Republican branch of the Russian Society of Historians and Archive Specialists.

Akhmet Khismatullin, the head of the Department of Archives under Government RB, professor Aislu Yunusova, the chairman of the Bashkir Republican branch of the Russian Society of Historians and Archive Specialists, veterans of the State Archive Service (SAS) of Bashkortostan, scientists of the leading universities of Bashkortostan and several Russian regions, archive specialists took the floor at the conference.

Participant of the scientific forum discussed the topical questions of history of the SAS RB; modern condition of archive-keeping in the republic; the problems of introduction of archive documents on history of archive-keeping of Volga-Ural region for scientific use and publications; the role of historical and archival and archaeographic societies and commissions in development of archive-keeping.

The conference accepted recommendations aimed at further development of archive-keeping, cooperation of historians and archive specialists of the South Urals, strengthening of creative contacts and expansion of experience exchange in archiving, record management and archaeography.
